Changelog
What changed and when.
2.1
- Two new tools: a Gear Ratio Calculator that plots road speed against engine speed for every gear, and a Unit Converter for the power, torque, speed, displacement, boost and economy units car builds are quoted in.
- The garage got a great deal lighter. Photos are resized on the way in and served at the size they are actually displayed, taking one view of the garage from about eight megabytes to well under one, with no layout shift as images load.
- Links shared to Discord now show a preview card with the car's photo.
- Every page passes an accessibility contrast audit in both light and dark themes.
- Fixed page titles showing an escaped apostrophe — "JM's Car" rather than "JM's Car" — in browser tabs, search results and link previews.
2.0 — the rebuild
The site moved from hand-edited HTML files to a PHP application with a proper admin panel.
- Every tool, vehicle, page and motor preset is now editable in the browser — no deploy needed to add a car or fix a typo.
- The EV Torque Calculator's motor library became data. Adding a motor is a form, not a code change.
- New interface: one design system, light and dark themes, keyboard-accessible throughout, and noticeably less to download.
- The garage got individual pages per vehicle, filtering by status, and searchable spec sheets.
1.3 and earlier
- Added the Hopeless Garage with collapsible spec tables.
- Added the Fuel Board, reading live from a shared spreadsheet.
- EV Torque Calculator gained custom curve sliders, JSON export and a live chart.
